The checklist
- Visually inspect springs, cables, and rollers
- Tighten all hardware (door, track, opener bracket)
- Lubricate hinges, rollers, springs, opener rail
- Test the door balance (disconnect opener, lift to halfway — should hold)
- Test auto-reverse with a 2x4 laid flat under the door
- Test photo-eye sensors by waving a broom through the beam while closing
- Replace weather seal if cracked
