- 1. Replace the remote battery
- 2. Test the wall button — if it works, it's a remote issue
- 3. Re-program the remote (each brand has a learn button)
- 4. Check both safety sensor LEDs — both should be solid
- 5. Wipe the sensor lenses and re-aim them
- 6. Look for a vacation lock switch on the wall console
- 7. Confirm the breaker isn't tripped
- 8. Pull the manual disconnect, lift the door by hand to check balance
